Artist's Comments

Took a wander down this little path by the river a couple of nights ago to see where it leads. It ends up about 20feet above the river, with a sheer bank dropping right into the river.

Anyway, while I was up on high, I saw this guy splashing around doing rolls and stuff, so I started to shoot him. I dont think he knew I was there, as the path is totally hidden.

I thought this pic showed the guy as relaxed on the water, almost at home. I would've preffered the paddle to be straighter but hey.

No contrast boosting, just gradient map in PS7.

What a weird effect :O_o: I like it tho, works very well and a very striking image. Have you played with some different crops? I can see 2 or 3 that, in my opinion at least, could improve on him being so central. As for the paddle, I think being straighter would have had less of an impact, as it is, you have a nice lazy shot that pretty much just works.

thanks, I did try a couple of crops, but in the end I just stuck with this central one.

I thought you'd like this one, since you used to kayak... :)
